You have read AFFINITY; have you also read FINGERSMITH?
What do you make of Maud and Sue? Judging from the comments to the FINGERSMITH videos on YOUTUBE everybody is MADLY IN LOVE with both girls, yet they are not very nice. Sue intended to betray and rob Maud, while Maud did betray Sue. Obviously a lot of the appeal is based on the charm and charisma of Elaine Cassidy and Sally Hawkins, but equally obviously that is not the entire story. Ms Walters is obviously a great writer, for she made me care about them, and I was very glad when the two are together at the end; in your opinion, how did such sly and cunning girls turn into sympathetic characters whom you would love to have as house guests?
Sorry I did not reply before.
I could indeed be a friend, for I try very earnestly to be kind and amiable to everybody I know, including my house employee, whose mother-in-law sadly died yesterday at the relatively young age of 64.
As an artist, you have to be on good terms with as many people as possible who might be interested in what your mind and hands can create.
